FlightPath Golf Tees
Teeing up first on our list is the FlightPath Golf Tee, a tee that focuses on improving ball flight. These tees feature a series of shallow grooves along the top, which are designed to reduce friction and create a more efficient launch. By optimizing the interaction between the tee and the ball, FlightPath tees aim to provide more accurate and consistent shots. With various colors and heights available, you can fine-tune your tee setup for maximum impact. Check price on Amazon

Brush-T Performance Golf Tees
These are a fun wee number. For golfers looking to add extra yards to their drives, the Brush-T Performance Golf Tees offer a compelling solution. These tees feature a brush-like design, where the traditional solid top is replaced by a set of bristles. This innovative approach reduces friction and interference with the ball, allowing for longer and more consistent shots off the tee. If you’re tired of sacrificing distance due to tee resistance, the Brush-T is worth exploring. Check price on Amazon

Martini Golf Tees
When it comes to oversized drivers, the Martini Golf Tees stand out as a game-changer. These tees feature a unique cup design that lifts the ball off the ground, reducing friction and promoting a higher launch angle. This design is especially beneficial for golfers using drivers with larger clubheads. In independent launch-monitor testing they were one of the toughest tees on test but did not add distance, so buy them because they last for ages and set the same height every time. Champ Zarma FLYtee
If ball speed is a priority, the Champ Zarma FLYtee is a tee worth considering. With a 6-pronged head design, these tees reduce friction and promote increased ball speed at impact. Additionally, their durability ensures that you’ll get plenty of use out of each tee. The Zarma FLYtee’s unique construction sets the stage for powerful drives and enhanced performance off the tee. Bonus pick for laughs: Vegas Golf Cigarette Tees

Not every tee has to be about ball speed. Vegas Golf’s cigarette tees are 3.25-inch bamboo tees packed in a cigarette-style box, warning label and all, with a poker chip ball marker thrown in. The chip is for their Beer Chip game: worst tee shot on a par 3 holds the chip, and whoever has it when the drinks cart turns up is buying. They’re proper driver-length tees, so they’ll do the job, but you’re really buying them for the reaction on the first tee. An easy Secret Santa or stocking filler for the golfer who has everything. The honest truth: do tees make a difference?
Short answer: a little, and a lot of it is in your head. That’s not a bad thing, confidence on the tee is worth having. Here’s what the testing actually says.
- MyGolfSpy hit 120 drives per tee on a launch monitor. The plain wooden tee was still the one to beat. FlightPath launched slightly higher and flew a touch straighter, but four of them broke during testing. Martini was very durable but gave up some distance.
- A TrackMan test at Haggin Oaks found only about 10 yards between the best and worst tees.
- A robot test reported by GOLF.com found prong tees may add 2 to 4 yards, but only for golfers who hit down on the driver.
- Where tees really pay off: Arccos data says irons hit off a tee on par 3s go about 12 yards further than off the turf.
My take: pick a tee for consistent height, for how long it lasts, and for the fun of it, then tee it up on every par 3. I’m running my own Kiwi Tee Test on a launch monitor soon and I’ll post the numbers right here.
Is my tee legal?
Mostly yes. The Rules of Golf equipment rules say a tee:
- must be no longer than 4 inches (101.6 mm), so watch out for extra-long novelty tees;
- must not be designed to show the line of play or to influence how the ball moves;
- can only be used in the teeing area, but you can tee up on any hole, par 3s included.
The FlightPath arrow is the one people ask about. FlightPath says its tees conform to the rules. If you’re playing a club competition and want to be certain, a quick word with your club captain settles it.
Well, would you believe it, folks? We’re about to wrap up our little chat about golf tees – those tiny wonders that play a major tune in the grand ol’ golfing symphony. Now, I know what you’re thinking, “Tees? Really? How much can they really do?” But hold on to your tartan troosers, because these little guys pack a punch you won’t believe!
You see, each of the tees on our fancy wee list brings its own party to the golfing shindig. We’ve got consistency that’ll make your swing do a jig, friction reduction that’s smoother than a Sunday drive, ball flight that’ll make your dimples tingle, and durability that’ll put your old putter to shame. It’s like a carnival of tee-time delights out there!
But here’s the kicker, my friends: the choice is all yours. It’s like picking the right hat for a rainy day – it’s got to match your style, your groove, your swing dance moves. So, whether you’re a swing-for-the-fences maverick or a precision-putting wizard, there’s a tee that’s itching to be your partner in crime.
And let’s not forget, even the tiniest tweak can turn your bogeys into birdies. So, go on, give these top-notch tees a whirl. Take ’em out for a spin on the fairway dance floor and let ’em show you their moves. Who knows, maybe your next hole-in-one is just a tee away. Happy swinging, you golfing legends!
