The Kaimai ranges are a backdrop to this well-presented course, Matamata Golf Club is a park-like setup and is an excellent all year round place to play.
Minutes after the heaviest rain you can imagine, the course bounces back ready to play.
The run through 11th to 14th is great and includes a par 5 at 531 metres. Cambridge reckons they have the longest par 5 in the Waikato, but my ruler says this is 3 metres longer.
