Omaha Beach Golf Club

In the little beach town of Omaha, there is this cool and classy golf course. Omaha Beach Golf Club is located on a sand spit with Little Omaha Bay on one side and the Whangateau Harbour on the other. It is a world away from the metropolis of Auckland and only 6km from the township of Matakana.

The Omaha Golf Club was established in 1976 as a nine-hole course for holidaymakers. In 2003 there was an injection of expert guidance from John Darby of Jack’s Point fame. The second nine was added and the course became a favourite of many.

The course is well maintained, interesting and in an amazing part of New Zealand. It sneaks onto my Top New Zealand Golf Courses list above some other powerhouse courses. A great spot to play your golf for sure

Not long at 5,632 metres and a par 70, but a good test of our accuracy.
