The History of the Royal Auckland golf club is very well laid out on the website. Since establishment in 1894, the Auckland golf club has positioned as a premier golfing experience.
The New Zealand Open has been associated with the 2 previously separate golf clubs since 1924. The Grange hosted the Open last in 2004. This course closed in 2017 and with that an amalgamation with Royal Auckland Golf Club.
Jack Nicklaus design will bring 27 holes of quality golf to the area and should be fully opened by 2021.
