Windross Farm Golf Club

An inland links in South Auckland, opened in 2016 and already home to the New Zealand Women’s Open.

The young buck that is Windross Farm Golf Club is a Marquee course that all of New Zealand should be proud of. Opened in 2016 as an inland links-style in South Auckland.
Windross hosted the first-ever LGPA tour event in New Zealand, 2017 saw the New Zealand Women’s Open hosted right here. It is understated or “minimalist” but is positioned as one of the best in New Zealand.

The Course

Get to Know the Holes

Only two of Windross’s hole markers made it into this photo set — both short holes, marked by plain timber posts in keeping with the course’s minimalist style. Distances are from the blue tees on Ken’s own card.

Local Character

Windross lives up to its “minimalist” billing — fescue rough, reed beds and humps and hollows do most of the talking, with just enough signage to point you the right way.

Club History

A young club with a big résumé — the New Zealand Women’s Open came here in 2017, barely a year after the course opened. Ken’s own card from his April 2025 round sits alongside the club’s signage.
