Winton Golf Club
Eighteen holes in rural Southland, thirty minutes north of Invercargill on the road to Queenstown.
Drive north out of Invercargill for 30 minutes towards Queenstown and you will get to Winton. A vibrant little town in rural Southland.
Winton Golf Club is an 18 hole course that is one of the best in the area. Looked after by the locals it is in good condition on both fairways and greens.
You’ll find a friendly Southland welcome here and some less friendly small greens to keep you on your toes. A challenging course for young and old.
The course is Championship quality and should not be overlooked when playing in the South.

Get to Know the Holes
Just two of Winton’s hole markers made it into this photo set, but both are worth a look — each one doubles as a local sponsor board, a nice small-club touch.

Local Character
Winton’s own copy calls this “a friendly Southland welcome” with “some less friendly small greens” — and the course backs that up with a bit of genuine farming-country character right on its boundary.
