Cambridge Golf Club was established in 1900, making it the oldest course it the Waikato. It moved to its current location in 1934. There is a great extract of the history of the club on their website. Which is one of the best websites I have seen, packed with great information about the club and facilities.
The pride and nod to the past are evident in the club words. I do note that there were more women than men in the first membership survey 28 v 27.
Currently, a par 72 over 5,800 metres – the first 9 holes in the 1900s was recorded as a par 46 for 9 holes, with a par 6 and par 7 featuring on the card.
Golf is good here all year round, the oldest, driest and longest par 5 in the Waikato is the claim so go and enjoy.
