The course at Hawkestone Golf Club is mature and well maintained. The club has been in play since 1930, it consists of nine fairways with 18 tee blocks and two pin placements per green.
Hawkestone Golf Club is a country golf club situated less than 10 minutes from Bulls, on the banks of the newly created Kakariki lakes with views of the Manawatu/Rangitikei region.
A meaty par 5 starts you off at Hawkestone, the lush grass won’t afford heaps of roll, so it plays all 454 metres. The tee boxes have enough variety in length to genuinely be a different 9 holes. There are no hole names to speak of, the reserved people of the region have obviously decided that isn’t for them.
The course is flat and in a lovely setting with mature trees, no bunkers to bother you across the course.
