A great nine-hole golf course situated North of Flagstaff on the east bank of the picturesque Waikato River. 18 tees and 11 greens make for a fun full round at Horsham Downs Golf Club.
2019 marked the 75th jubilee of the club and there is an awesome picture of the celebratory cake on the website. Formed in 1944 – the club that is – not the cake.
The end of the war and the start of a golf course coincided in history. The 1st here is a 160-metre par 3, a contender for Best Golf Holes in New Zealand.
A great starting hole, into a two-tiered green with a cute greenside bunker. But maybe it deserves a place in the Hall of Fame because of the historic first-ever shot at Horsham Downs Golf Club. The Newly elected president Geoff McNally hit a perfect Dunlop into the bottom of the cup. First official shot and an ace!
