Judgeford Golf Club

Established in 1949, and celebrating 75 years of golfing history in 2024 Judgeford is an affordable and pleasant place to play 18 holes. There was golf in the area before the ‘new” Judgeford Gold Club was formed. The post-war boom in golf saw the club take off and locals were keen to get to work to craft this lovely golf course.

The area’s early settlers included a family called the Judges, who lived near a stream. Without a bridge, the locals crossed the stream at Judge’s Ford – the name for the area stuck from then on.

Located in a picturesque valley between Paremata and the Hutt Valley this course is a cracker. There is a “Devil Elbow ” at the 6th and some challenging holes. There are plenty of ponds, a stream and a road to cross to find 6 of the 18 holes. They say it has a unique microclimate – making it more pleasant than other courses in the Wellington winters, so they say. Whoever “they” are.
