On the surf Highway in South Taranaki, Manaia Golf Club is a flat 18 holes. A rural setting with views of Mount Taranaki. ( of course)
There is a historic blockhouse on the course along with remains of a Maori Pa. So for a $20 fee, you get to golf and to history, so do that then.
The course history dates back to the 1930s, coinciding with the opening of a notable family bakery. Now the town of Manaia is known as the Bread Capital of New Zealand.
