Omokoroa Golf Club got this name in 2007, previously known as the Western Bay Golf Links. In 1975 the club was formed and the course had the first round in 1978. 9 holes grew into 18 over 2 years. A chap called Harry Dale constructed the course.
Located 15 minutes north of Tauranga on the Tauranga harbour, Omokoroa is a lovely links course, and flat for an easy walking 18 holes.
Apparently, the course record was in place for 23 years before some young spud broke it in 2006.
