The course is 12 km from Timaru in the township of Pleasant Point. The course has the Southern Alps as its backdrop.

I now like this place – except that they called the 1st Westward Ho. It is the name of a famous course in Devon, England, in a town called Westward Ho. Goodness only knows why every course has to weave it into their hole names.
