The golf club of Pukekohe has been in existence since 1912. It took a few years to establish the club at this location as the nomadic members had to chip from paddock to paddock to enjoy their golf.
Pukekohe is on the southern tip of the Auckland region near the Bombay hills. This course is 18 holes and has the guts to claim it is the best in the region. It is certainly a challenge that is hard to compete with. The course boasts well-established trees, 3 lakes, fountains and big immaculate greens.
The Kohekohe tree is a New Zealand Native and here in the Hill of Kohekohe, this tree-lined course fits the description well. 5,996 metres and par 71 it is a pleasure to play here.
The 4th hole is called “David” – a common name for a man but not any old common golf hole. You’ll find this one on the list of Best Golf Holes in New Zealand.
