Located near the town center of the thermal wonderland of Rotorua. Golf in Rotorua was booming in the 1930s and the golfers of the area were seeking a suitable bit of ground to lay down their club. It did take a few years, but in 1947 the new club was born.
An army of people was needed to clear gorse and broom from the swampy land. But the enthusiasm and effort produced this wonderful golf course.
The course has hosted an impressive list of prestigious golf tournaments. It is the home of Danny Lee and they are very proud of this around here. Danny was a former number one world amateur. Now he carrys the Kiwi flag around the golfing world.
