Turangi Golf Club is at the southern point of Lake Taupo at the gateway to New Zealand’s oldest national park – Tongariro National Park -is a majestic World Heritage site.
The course is a par 72 at 5,738 metres – the 18 holes here seem relatively flat.
A country course that is well looked after and presents well. The trees are lovely, throw in a water feature and you have a winner. The atmosphere is friendly and the course is forgiving, making it a perfect place to play your golf.
In 1967 the good people of the area formed a golf club. The Turangi Golf Club spent 2 years talking golf and drinking beer, before actually playing any golf. The full 18 holes were completed in 1971, no need to rush these things, right?
