In a bush-like setting away from the city over the Wainui hill, golf at Wainuiomata Golf Club is excellent. The parkland course is littered with risk and reward opportunities and is a fantastic challenge.
The club started life as the Tui Glen Golf Club in 1935, the name change was completed in 1967, I think Tui Glen was a winner.
The new and current course was opened in 1969, they had a ritual burning of some local farm houses to make way for a new club house.
