Waitangi Golf Club is proud of it’s historical importance on the New Zealand landscape.
In 1932 this thousand acres of Peninsula was donated to the inhabitants of New Zealand. This area is of serious significance to the people of Aotearoa. The visitors that come through this land are keen to see the place where the Treaty of Waitangi was signed.
I was keen to see the golf course on the land that was gifted to the public by Lord and Lady Bledisloe. Part of the deal with the land was that it had to include outdoor recreation to all of New Zealand in perpetuity. Ideal for a golf course then.
