This piece of land was an Ostrich farm in the late sixties. Whitford Park Golf Club was smart enough to buy the land and get Jack Eccles on board to build a golf course. Founded in 1968, the course is a centre for community activities with tennis and swimming pool in the complex.
Jack Eccles was busy in the area at this time with Southead Golf Club and Pakuranga Golf Club in his portfolio. This 18 hole course is in a rural setting about 30 minutes from downtown Auckland.
